Nursing is a calling. I made the career choice to pursue nursing as a teenager when my grandmother was diagnosed with an aggressive condition that caused her bedridden. At the time, I could not grasp what was happening, but I knew I wanted to help her. I was observant of the care given to her and was especially drawn to the acts of kindness and exemplary care offered by a lady who introduced herself as a nurse. That passionate feeling has driven me into healthcare education, influencing my decision to pursue family nursing practice as a career.

Through research, it came to my attention that the family unit suffers the most when ailments affect the public health spectrum. My understanding is that care begins from a family, which is the smallest unit in society to alleviate human diseases. Furthermore, the need for family-based health promotion and care process has continuously grown in the modern age of lifestyle-based complications. I believe we can significantly contribute to this solution as family-centered nursing care. As highlighted by my academic performance, I am an academically prepared and professionally suited to be a family nurse practitioner who people admire.

I have also had a deep-rooted stance as a proponent of family-based care gathering from the various mind-opening workshops and seminars that I have attended. Having grown up from a financially challenged background, I fully understand the cost of care and its implication on the social and economic aspect of the family. As a family nurse, I will always strive for accessible, timely, and cost-effective care. As secretary-general of our community health organization, I believe I have proper leadership skills to see my excellence in the field of healthcare
